For 30+ years, Kyran D. Nigro has represented clients throughout the Capital Region in matters ranging from criminal defense to complex medical malpractice cases. He graduated from Providence College in 1989 and obtained his law degree from Albany Law School in 1992. Thereafter, he worked at several firms in the Albany area, where he was born and raised, cultivating his skills as a trial attorney until opening his own law firm in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2004.
Kyran has provided legal services in a broad range of areas including traffic violations/DWI, criminal defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, child custody and neglect matters, residential and commercial real estate transactions and civil litigation for business owners and individuals. He is an experienced trial attorney and has litigated numerous cases ranging from DWI charges and misdemeanors to complex felony matters including burglary, drug possession/sales, weapons possession and murder.
In addition to his criminal experience, Kyran has had great success in the courtroom defending and prosecuting civil claims for his clients in a myriad of areas which include motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall cases, products liability, medical malpractice matters, and business and estate litigation. He has tried cases from Ulster County north to the Canadian border and from Albany west to Buffalo.
While Kyran prefers to spend his days in the courtroom, he also recognizes that many matters can be more effectively resolved with the use of the settlement and negotiation skills that he has developed throughout his career as a litigator. To that end, he has used these skills to negotiate settlements on behalf of his clients with great success in order to avoid the time and expense associated with a prolonged trial.
Kyran’s practice also extends to transactional matters including residential and commercial real estate closings, as well as business contracts and corporate filings. He prides himself on providing his clients with the counsel and legal advice needed to avoid the pitfalls that often lead to costly and time consuming litigation and understands that avoiding litigation is as valuable to his clients as a successful verdict.
